Music video by definition, it is rather a non-commercial form, although it contributes significantly to the promotion of the artist and his work. With the help of an image as an illustration to the music, we are able to enhance the artistic message expressed through musical means - style, composition, harmony, arrangement and words.

The first step in producing music videos is, of course, recording the song in a music studio. This can be an opportunity to produce interesting material that can then be shown in a music video. The equipment used for such an implementation may be limited. Production enters the next stage.

Music video - a promotion of artists

The most popular visual layer of a music video is the band or musician performing the song "for the camera". Sound recording during the shooting on the set is less important here, the so-called "audio pilot", the piece of music is performed from playback or semi-playback, and the video material is synchronized in editing with the audio layer previously recorded in the studio.

A special case is the "live" production, where we already have live material ready - the performance of the piece together with the reactions of the audience - such music videos are watched with the impression of participating in a concert.

Music video - a story to be told

The script of the music video is often made up of a storyline. Ideas are taken from or loosely inspired by the story in the song.

In this way, the music video supports the drama of the piece, as in every film, we identify ourselves with the hero's fate and experience his story more deeply. Here is an example of our music video "You are beautiful" - Freedom is near.

There are also known cases of music videos of music tracks constituting the soundtrack in the film - here the footage is mounted under the song, and the resulting video clip promotes the film.

In the open air or in the studio?

The production of the music video can be carried out in an actual location or on a green screen, where the green background can be replaced in post-production - below is an example of a green screen production - the music video "Quickly 1, 2, 3" - The Fedor Family.

In this case, a static graphic was used as the background, instead, you can create a virtual scenery or "paste" the performer into an exotic location, or, for example, into a water surface:

The green-screen technique gives unlimited possibilities and does not require too much equipment.

The most interesting option is the music video scenario in which we have a combination of different layers - it all depends on the artist's vision and budget.
